Here at Architectural & Engineering Design Associates we're always striving to improve. This means new hardware, new software, training and even a recent addition to the office building. Andrew C. Abdallah, P.E. President Andrew (Andy) Abdallah is one of the founding partners and current corporate president of Architectural & Engineering Design Associates, P.C. (AEDA). He has over four decades of engineering expertise, and his leadership is the cornerstone for the company’s endeavors. A distinguished graduate of Clarkson College of Technology (1971), he began his professional career with the NYS Department of Transportation (1972-1973). After over a decade of service to the Clinton County Health Department as a sanitary engineer and Director of Environmental Health for a comprehensive Environmental Health Program, Mr. Abdallah decided to start his own Architecture and Engineering practice in Plattsburgh NY. He is responsible for structural design, management, and staff coordination on all AEDA projects. James A. Abdallah, P.E. Vice President James (Jim) Abdallah is a second generation engineer and is the current corporate vice-president at Architectural & Engineering Design Associates, P.C. (AEDA). He has nearly 2 decades of construction and engineering experience and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, as well as the primary corporate liaison to AEDA's many clients. A distinguished graduate of Clarkson University (2000), James started working construction while still in school. He worked for 5 years with Luck Brothers Construction (1996-2000) and was instrumental in the construction oversight of a walkway project at Paul Smith's college. Upon completion of his degree, he returned to Plattsburgh and began working for AEDA as a project engineer. He now shares the responsibility for the design, management and staff coordination of all AEDA projects. He is a member of the National Civil Engineering Honor Society (Chi Epsilon), Plattsburgh Noon Rotary Board of Directors (VP), the Rural Preservation Company of Clinton County Board of Directors (VP), The Vilas Home Board of Directors (VP) and sits on the City of Plattsburgh Planning Board. Shane E. Chatelle, R.A. ArchitectURE DEPT. HEAD Shane Chatelle has been working in the profession of Architecture since 1989 and brings over two-and-a-half decades of design experience and management to AEDA. He is the Lead Architect and responsible for project design and management of the architectural personnel. Shane began his professional career with AEDA, P.C. as an architectural designer and progressed to a project manager over his 11 year term. He then took a position with the Akwesasne Housing Authority as a Development Manager working closely with HUD. Continuing in the field of development, Shane was an Administrator at North Country Community College with a portfolio that include master planning, programming and project management within the SUNY system. Upon obtaining architectural licensure Shane established a professional practice of his own providing design and project management services. Shane currently manages the development of architectural projects, provides design, programming, project management and is a client liaison at AEDA, P.C. Michael S. Coon, P.E. EngineerING DEPT. HEAD Michael Coon is a Professional Engineer with expertise in civil engineering and is responsible for civil as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for various projects at Architectural & Engineering Design Associates, P.C. He is heavily involved in the engineering design and project permitting within the company. A distinguished graduate of the University of Colorado (2000) Michael began working for Green Mountain Engineering in Williston Vermont as a Project Engineer. From 2003 to 2006 Michael worked for Sandford Surveying & Engineering Inc. in Bedford New Hampshire as a Project Engineer, where he was responsible for project management and design of residential subdivision and commercial site development projects including road design, site grading, storm water treatment & control, sewer & water facilities. For the last decade Michael has been a Senior Project Engineer for AEDA, where his focus has been site design and general civil engineering; including the design for the Biathlon Training Loop Design for the Olympic Regional Development Authority in Lake Placid, NY. He coordinates site permitting with local and county Planning & Zoning Boards and state agencies including: NYSDEC, NYSDOH, NYSDOT, the APA, and the Army Corps of Engineers. Joseph R. Krupka INTERN ARCHITECT/ PROJECT MANAGER Joseph (Joe) Krupka is an Intern Architect with over three decades of architectural design experience. He has worked for Architectural & Engineering Design Associates for nearly 25 years and contributes to both the architectural and engineering design projects for the company. A distinguished graduate of the U.S. Army Defense Mapping School in Fort Belvoir VA (1979) Joe began his architectural career for O’Connor & March Architects (1982-1984) where he prepared working drawings, accomplished field investigations, and was involved in contract administration. In 1984 he began working for Arvay/Whitford Associates as an Architectural Designer. While tenured there he was involved in all phases of design and construction and was at the forefront of the transition from hand drafting to Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD). In 1992 Joe came to AEDA; he is responsible for all architectural services including drawing development, budgeting, code analysis, construction documents, cost estimating, bidding, contract administration, construction observation and quality assurance across all types of projects. Lars K Tennyson II, MBA Architectural Designer/ Marketing Lars Tennyson is an Architectural Designer for Architectural & Engineering Design Associates and is responsible for architectural design, 3D modeling, graphic design and various marketing efforts for the company. A distinguished graduate of Norwich University (2000 & 2007) Lars began working in architecture while he was still in college. Upon graduating in 2000, he moved to Florida full-time and began working for MRI Architectural Group in Cocoa Beach Florida (2000-2003) designing multi-family condominiums and resorts including design work for Holiday Inn Club Vacations Cape Canaveral Beach Resort. From 2003-2005 Lars worked for BRPH in Melbourne FL. As an architectural designer he was involved in several noted projects, including the Shuttle Launch Simulator at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor’s Complex. During this time he also began pursuing his MBA. In 2005 Lars moved to MAI Architects as a project manager working on a variety of commercial, residential and industrial projects, including Crane Creek Medical Center. After receiving his master’s degree he began working as an independent contractor for numerous design companies as a design consultant and 3D modeling associate. In 2013 he began working for AEDA as an architectural designer, 3D modeler and a marketing associate. |
James Hammaker Intern Architect/ Architecture Q.A./Q.C. DIRECTOR James Hammaker is an Intern Architect for Architectural & Engineering Design Associates and is responsible for drafting and design of architectural and engineering projects for the company. With over 15 years of professional design experience, "Jamie" is a valued addition to the architectural department. He attended Alfred State College in Alfred NY and then began work as an Architectural Draftsman and Survey Technician for GYMO P.C. Watertown, NY in 1999. Between 2003 and 2006 he worked for both Precision Industrial Maintenance and Schonbek World Wide Lighting. In 2006 Jamie joined Robbins Architecture, PA in Highpoint, NC as a Project Manager and CADD Technician. He was involved in a number of high profile projects for the firm including: Guilford County Schools - Southwest High School, Thomasville Chamber of Commerce in Thomasville, NC, and the DeCoro Showroom, High Point, NC. James Balko ARCHITECTURAL & ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN James Balko is an Architectural & Engineering Technician for AEDA, and is responsible for drafting architectural and structural components for projects and the creation of construction documents. Hard-working and diligent, James worked in the service industry for over a decade working his way up into management positions. At the same time he also worked intermittently doing construction and remodeling, and later he also managed maintenance for an apartment complex. James ultimately decided to pursue design and digital art which lead him to attain a certificate from CVTEC. His ambitions paid off and he began working for AEDA in 2020. His talent is becoming quite apparent as he has participated in numerous projects and is a very productive member of the staff and has the potential to become an integral part of the design team as well. email: jbalko@aedapc.com |
Darek LaBare INTERN ENGINEER Darek LaBare is an intern engineer for AEDA, and is responsible for design and drafting of civil engineering components for projects and the creation of construction documents. The recipient of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, Darek began working professionally while still in college. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Civil Engineers. His love of the North Country brought him back to the region upon graduation where he had already secured employment with AEDA.
