AEDA has been working diligently over the past year since our last blog post. We haven't gone anywhere, but we've been busy. We'd like to share some news and photos though to let everyone know what we've been working on and what's coming. First, we've had quite a few projects completed over the past 12 months. It's been a blessing to continually have new work coming into the office. We're proud to be involved with all of our project partners. And we'd like to point out a singular project that we're particularly happy with. East End Convenience in Fort Covington NY has been completed and is fully operational. The convenience store was a completely custom design in cooperation with the owner. We provided not only a convenience store but also a space for a restaurant. With a one-of-a-kind design that evokes a modern aesthetic and also pays tribute to the native population of the area, East End is a unique design which we were proud to help bring to fruition. Below is the original rendering and the actual finished building. We're thrilled at the finished building and congratulate the owner and the builders on the efforts to see this project from design to reality. Second, we've been very blessed to see our hard work paying off. We've been awarded with several great projects recently and we'd like to mention them here. AEDA has been awarded the design contract with Essex County to design the new Agriculture and Youth building to be located on the Essex County Fairgrounds. The new project promises to be something special and will house the Essex County Soils and Water department as well as a branch of the Cornell Cooperative. We are thankful for the county choosing us for this great project. It will mark the second building on the fairgrounds that AEDA has designed. Our last project was the Essex County Nutritional Building which was a great success. We are confident we will provide similar results for the new Agriculture and Youth Building and we look forward to the design being brought to life...more information as things develop. Finally, another new project we've been awarded is the new highway garage in the Town of Chester. The Sun Community publication recently has a blurb about us and the project that I'd like to share. And if you want you can read the article yourself on their website (link below) BOARD HIRES FIRM TO DESIGN TOWN GARAGE In other business conducted at the July town board meeting, the board members voted to hire Architectural & Engineering Design Associates of Plattsburgh for a sum of $214,300 to design a new town of Chester highway garage and salt shed. The firm was chosen from several other companies — although their bid for the work was not the lowest — because of their vast experience in designing municipal garages and salt sheds, board member Larry Turcotte said. (...) The new 20,000 square feet highway garage is to feature 16 drive-through bays which will accommodate all the town highway plows, utility trucks and heavy equipment, including graders, a backhoe, a loader, two tractors and an excavator. (...) We're really excited about these new projects and all of our other work and we can't wait to dive into all our projects. We love to design and produce projects for our customers. If you need design work in Architecture or Engineering we'd love to hear from you! Head over to our contact page and let us know, we're waiting for your project also!
